I broke my pinky toe on my right foot during my 6th grade year of school. The bone still slightly protrudes off the side of the toe. Yuck.
A few summers ago, when opening the icebox on the bus, I knocked off my toenail, left foot, second toe (would this be my index toe?), and it bled and bled, and did not grow back quickly.
About a month ago, I stomped my toe (right foot, second toe) on my piano bench in my room. It bled and bled... and 2 weeks later, fell off in the middle of the night.
About 2 days ago, while exiting our local Mexican restaurant, I stomped my left foot, second toe, on the door, knocking it off as well.
I used to get cramps in my toes... and you'd laugh if you saw them sticking together during that time.
I've read that it takes approximately 100 days for a toenail to grow 1 cm. To look at my feet now only saddens me. It's summer... the time for pretty painted toenails... only I'm 2 short of 10! I surely hope this growth process goes quickly. In the meantime, maybe I'll just paint my skin. =(

is it bad that I laughed when I read the one about the toe falling off in the middle of the night - it was HILARIOUS.
And, just as a side note, and for a little trivia, since i come from a family of 5, the big toe is the "daddy toe" and the pinky toe is the "jared toe". I am the fourth toe - "Hilary toe". It made my think about that when you mentioned your "index toe." :)
Don't feel bad... I laughed when it happened. And I suppose this means that my index toe is the mommy toe? And the one next to it, the Ashlyn toe?
darlin, you and hurting your toes. you sound like me breaking fingers. i have broken both ring fingers and thumbs. if you're not carefull, you aren't going to be painting nails at all. although the painting the skin thing does work. i ripped off half of my big toe nail on the raisers during musical rehersal and had to paint over the skin and it looked fine.
just watch out for things sticking out. you kinda need your feet. lol

I'm so sorry Shannon but I laughed while reading too. I didn't mean to but my head fell back (you know that bellyful laugh) and you head tips back. That one.
But only because I'm laying down and my head is heavy right now. :|
